Today we had our first staggered run thorough without stopping. This really shocked me as I did not think I knew as much as I did. As I didn't get a break between each scene to console my script, as my character goes from one scene to another so there was no time for me to think about what was next. From this run I found that I really need to work on my lines and learning them. It really helped that Katie didn't stop the backing track unless there was a mistake, as it made us realise how fast pace it can get in places.
From this as a cast we all saw that the thing bringing the performance down, was the opening song, Katie went through this with us, and it came clear that we were all missing some lines, which then through us off for the rest. We were told to use the counting technique, this helped to get a point in the music for when to do our lines as there is no clear rhythm to the music.
After this we then all got the chance to say which parts we wanted to work on in the next lesson. I said that I would like to work on the end of scene 4 as I was not 100% on the running order of when lines come and people enter. This was also mentioned by other people.
