My rehearsal
- My character is affected by the context of the play by the Witches curse on his family, this means that he cant have children. This gives him a reason to go into the woods to find the objects that the witch needs in order to reverse the spell.
- The music in 'Into The Woods' is very different from other musicals. This means that we need to have a wide range, to jump from high to low. Music is also intertwined to the text and can go from speech to song.
-I need to work more on my vocal awareness, I want to go through all of my lines and think of new ways to make my lines seem inventive and interesting. I will play around with pace, tone and pitch.
-Within rehearsals I try to give people the push to give their full energy, by giving constant energy and willingness. I think this helps other people with there character and willingness.
-As far as confidence when performing, I feel that as the rehearsal period goes on I become more confident with the people around me. As we all can work off everyone's strengths and weaker points.
-I try to enter all rehearsals having thought about what I want to do with my character and have planned my lines thinking of tone, pitch and pace. I am always willing to take on extra ideas, and will adapt this to future lines.
-I have taken a strong role in my costume production, thinking of designs, fabric needs and arranging time to make and fit costumes for people. I have re-used some costumes that I have already sourced and made (EG-Little red riding hood and Mystery man) and then also using fabrics to create new costume designs (EG-The Wolf and the princes).
-I will always go into a rehearsal or meeting with full energy and open to new ideas and approaches to my character and my development as a performer.
-As an actor I have picked up on my songs and lines by listening to them over and over and running with fellow cast member and picking it up from rehearsals. I see this as one of my strong points in rehearsals, being prepared and ready to rehearse.
-In terms of documentation, other than keeping up to date within my blog of what happens during rehearsal, I also write as much as I cant within my script of what changes have been made to scene, then I can use this to make changes to my own performance.
