Grease Dance Rehearsal With Emily 9/1/2015

As our ensemble dance unit we are doing a medley from Grease. The style of dance in Grease is very jazz style, this involves fast pace, levels and travailing

In small groups we had to come up with an 8 beat sequence, containing moves that we would expect to see in Grease. In my group we looked closely at the characters of the 'T-Birds'. We used hand gestures, leg shakes and clicks. We then put these all together to  fit along side the songs. All groups sequences were then put together to make one big dance. This showed a lot of different styles as we went from group to group, differing from more leg orientated to some using a lot of group work.

If feel that when coming up with the dance sequence I thought about levels, dynamics and characterisation. I do though think that some of the moves that our group came up with may have steered away from the jazz 1950's style.

Grease Dance
